Product description

The CMX910 is a highly integrated Class A and Class B AIS baseband signal processor IC, capable of performing all of the required data-handling and formatting, timing, distribution and control functions under host control.

Selectable to 12.5 and 25kHz modes for marine AIS, the CMX910 accommodates, in Rx and Tx, both full AIS data packet assembly and disassembly and a basic ‘raw’ data facility.

Integration of all marine AIS functions, including versatile synchronisation and timing and control facilities, are available on this compact IC. Control and interfacing, including upgraded ‘data-streaming’, are via the C-BUS serial interface, with a host-controlled expansion port for the addition of other CML (or other) ICs.

A third, parallel (Rx) decode path, accommodates the additional DSC (FSK) signalling from an external modem for Class A marine AIS applications.

Enhancement
To further enhance the CMX910, its Special Command Interface can be used to reconfigure the CMX910’s functionality to fully implement its CS-TDMA reception capability.

Requiring a supply input in the range 3.0 to 3.6 volts, the CMX910 is available in both compact 64-pin LQFP and VQFN packages.
