Description
The EV9980 EvKit allows rapid and full evaluation of the CMX998 Cartesian Feedback Transmitter IC. In the form of a populated PCB, this flexible platform enables users, using a control interface, to configure and evaluate the CMX998 to various applications and frequency bands. Access is provided to all CMX998 RF, baseband and control signals by either connector or test points. Test access points are available to accept common test equipments such as RF and baseband signal generators and spectrum analysers. All signal paths are matched by suitable (changeable) components and the EvKit provides, on-board, two power amplifier devices, one at 400MHz (default) and one at 800MHz; support is also available for the connection and operation of a custom PA. The overall operating evaluation frequency range of the EvKit is for RF frequencies between 100MHz and 1GHz. The EV9980 can be configured to work with the CMX981 Digital Radio Baseband processor IC or with a custom baseband system.
No software is required for use of the EV9980 EvKit; the on-board CMX998 is controlled via its C-BUS
serial interface and control system.
There are currently two styles of EV9980 EvKits in circulation: (a) Current EvKits compatible with the PE0002 EvKit Interface Card (currently shipped EV9980 EvKits employ the PE0002; the PE0002 card is not provided as part of the EV9980 EvKit) and (b) Legacy EvKits compatible with the PE0001 EvKit Interface Card (legacy support files for these older kits are available in the lower list below). Click a hyperlink in the lists below to download the relevant support package for your EvKit. For a detailed list of contents, please refer to the EKxxxx.doc file in the relevant zip-file.
