The PE0601-xxxx Platform Evaluation Kit is designed to assist in the evaluation and application development of the CMX7x6x range of FirmASIC products.

The kit is in the form of a populated PCB comprising a CMX7x6x target IC and appropriate supporting components and circuitry.

The board also incorporates all of the necessary power-supply regulation facilities for operation from a single 5 volt supply, or a dual +/-5 volt supply if the instrumentation interface is required.

The board is fitted with a C-BUS connector allowing the PE0601 to be operated by connection to either of the two C-BUS ports on a CML PE0003 Interface Card, and used with the associated PC GUI software, or by direct connection between the CMX7x6x C-BUS and the user's µC development application or emulation system.

The CMX7x6x Function Image (FI) can be loaded, on power-up, directly into the on-board target IC using the PE0003 interface or the user's system. Alternatively, it can be automatically loaded from the on-board serial memory, on power-up.

In this case, the on-board serial memory has to be pre-loaded with the FI by using the 'Program Serial Memory' tab on the PE0003 GUI software, or by the user's system utilising the appropriate 'thick stub' programme.
All of this software is available from the CML website.

CMX7164 2FSK 4FSK RAW Scripts The two scripts contained in the ZIP file demonstrate the use of 2/4FSK transmitting and receiving up to 7 million bits of raw data through an RF wireless link. These scripts require the following evaluation boards: Two x PE0003, Two x PE0601-7164, One x EV9980, One x EV9920B. It is important to read the included readme.txt file. It is recommended that you read the QAM + RF Demonstration application information and watch the YouTube video for the Full QAM + RF Demo" as the setup of the evaluation boards is the same.
PE0601-7164 - 2FSK 4FSK Formatted Scripts The two scripts contained in the ZIP file demonstrate the use of 2/4FSK transmitting and receiving Block 2 Formatted data through an RF wireless link. The Data frame consists of Header Block, Intermediate Block and Last Block. These scripts can be easily modified to support other Block Types. These scripts require the following evaluation boards: Two x PE0003, Two x PE0601-7164, One x EV9980, One x EV9920B. It is important to read the included readme.txt file. It is recommended that you read the QAM + RF Demonstration application information and watch the YouTube video for the Full QAM + RF Demo" as the setup of the evaluation boards is the same.
CMX7163/64 - QAM Constellation Diagram Support The seven scripts contained in the zip file allow viewing of QAM constellation diagrams in the CMX7163 or CMX7164. These scripts are used in the YouTube video, “QAM Constellation Diagrams Discussion” which can be found on the Videos tab on this page. The following Evaluation Kits are required; PE0601-7163 or PE0601-7164, PE0003, EV9980 and EV9920B.
