  • Micro SD Card to store Function Images and bulk data
  • PC GUI and hardware provided
  • Function Image Handling for FirmASIC-based Projects
  • High-speed Real-time Script Execution
  • PC Control/Communications via USB Port
  • Software Configurable GPIO Lines and Indicating LED Bank
  • C Library for fast C development
  • JTAG port for debugging C applications

The PE0003 supersedes the PE0002 and is backward compatible with existing scripts if the PE0003 GUI is downloaded.

The PE0003 Evaluation Kit Interface Card is a global interface system for use with evaluation kits for CML’s new generation ICs, including FirmASIC™ based products. This greatly simplifies the approach to the evaluation and design-in process.

Based around the NXP ARM microprocessor LPC4330 and using a PC GUI, the information generated is formatted, timed and delivered to the target IC via  selected C-BUS serial interfaces or a host port. The supplied control software can be used to perform C-BUS read and write operations, read or write sample data  or run scripting functions.

In the case of FirmASIC™ IC evaluations, the Function Image™ can be loaded onto the CMX{target} device or programmed into serial memory on the {target} card.

Communication with the PE0003 is via high-speed USB 2.0.

The PE0003 provides an environment for C code development and evaluation using NXP’s toolchain, LPCXpresso. A PC based GUI adds an interactive display facility with keyboard entry. Debugging using a low-cost JTAG interface can be managed with or without the GUI. A rich API using a set of proven C libraries can be downloaded from the Knowledge Base tab together with full documentation and a guide to getting started. Numerous practical examples are included.

Design Support Information

Q. The PE0003 driver bundled with the PE0003 Installation Package and the EC0003 Installation Package does not work with Windows XP.

A. Windows XP is no longer supported by Microsoft and so driver support for signed drivers in Win XP has ended. To support customers who wish to continue using Win XP, a compatible driver can be found on the PE0003 Knowledge Base tab. See the entry, PE0003 XP Driver. This driver is unsigned and installation instructions can be found in the PE0003 User Manual.
