DAC

DAC
Digital-to-Analogue Converter: for converting a digital code to an analogue signal (current, voltage or electric charge). Digital-to-analogue converters are the interface between digital signals and analogue operations.
Such a circuit is used to convert the digital output from a computer into the analogue voltage required to produce sound from a conventional loudspeaker.
DAC circuits are available on many CML ICs and are often employed as control functions for peripheral operations.
