Carrier
A carrier is a wave capable of being modulated by an information-carrying signal.
An electromagnetic wave that can be modulated, as in frequency, amplitude, or phase, to transmit speech, music, images, or other signals.
The use of multiple carriers permits multiple voice frequency signals in the same transmission, as in frequency division multiplexing (FDM).
