AMPS/NAMPS
A cellular communications system used in the United States.
AMPS is a first-generation cellular technology that uses separate frequencies, or "channels", for each conversation. NAMPS (Narrowband AMPS) uses FDMA techniques to derive three voice channels from one AMPS channel.
