Description
Designed for AIS Class B Implementation, the CMX7042 is a highly integrated, half-duplex, AIS baseband signalling processor IC.
Comprising two parallel limiter-discriminator Rx paths and one I and Q or two-point modulation Tx output path, the CMX7042 fulfills the requirements of the Class B marine AIS system. Each of these paths is configurable for AIS or DSC operation.

The CMX7042 performs signal modulation/demodulation of associated AIS functions, such as training sequence detection, NRZI conversion and HDLC processing (flags, bit-stuffing/de-stuffing, CRC generation/checking). Raw AIS data and AIS burst data handling options are selectable.
Use of the CMX7042 is made more attractive by the provision of two synthesised system clock generators on-chip.
To further simplify the system design process, Integrated Rx/Tx buffers with gain control and auxiliary ADCs and DACs are also provided.

Evaluation Kits: PE0401 and PE0002 are available for the evaluation of this product.
