This dual Rx/Tx device (audio and marine DSC) includes comprehensive voiceband processing and in-band signalling in partnership with NOAA weather-radio decoding features.
System Clocks, ADCs and DACs are also available on chip for complete support of the host system, with the CMX7031 offering two on-chip RF synthesisers.
In addition to marine communications ICs, CML offers the following services:
- Design solutions for DSC channel receivers and transmitters
- Help desk teams to support designs
- Product design consultancy
- Consultancy on marine VHF radio and safety systems
A VHF marine radio is an essential piece of equipment in both coastal and deep-water operations.
It allows instant communication between your vessel and other vessels, marinas and bridges.
It is the primary means of communication on the water and has many characteristics, which make
it preferable to a mobile phone, CB Radio, or other means of communication.
CML provides complete world voice signalling and data solutions, supporting DSC, ATIS, DTMF, NWR WAT and SAME, as well as dPMR, PMR and Trunked radio.

Evaluation Example
The EV8850 Evaluation Kit is designed to assist in the evaluation and application development
using the CMX885 Marine VHF Audio and Signalling Processor.
The kit is in the form of a populated PCB comprising a CMX885 IC and appropriate supporting
components and circuitry.
The board incorporates all of the necessary power-supply regulation facilities for operation from
a single 5-volt supply.
The board is fitted with a C‑BUS connector allowing the EV8850 to be operated by connection to
either of the two C‑BUS ports on a CML PE0002 Interface Card, and used with the associated PC
GUI software, or by direct connection between the CMX885 C‑BUS and the user's µC development
application or emulation system.
